Keep in touch with your family members. It will make them so much more disposed to like you and want to do things for you if they don't feel that you've pushed them away all of their lives. And don't assume they'll be willing to do things for you just because you happen to be related. Blood may be thicker than water, but real family doesn't work that way.*
