Faust

I must say, for a production that has been widely panned by the critics, I'm really looking forward to the Met broadcast tonight. I can't wait to see for myself if it's completely ridiculous. I listened to a very interesting radio interview with Jonas Kaufmann just the other day, where he basically said, "Yeah, it's an interesting concept, it just doesn't work at all" (interview here). I've never seen this opera before, so I'm going to it with an open mind. I must also admit that I'm looking forward to seeing Curls here dressed as a fugly old man.

I'm sure I'll get a review up tomorrow (and who knows, I'll probably love it. Especially if it's crazy), but I'm sure I'll be on Twitter during the intermission. I'm also looking forward to seeing Joyce DiDonato host, because she is fabulous.
