I've always loved portraits of opera characters, and these images are very evocative. I'd love to see him do some riffs on Tosca and La Boheme, among others.

In other news, the New Year has officially begun, and I have hit the ground running. So much to do in the next three months! Must finish up my German course and make the official test, do a one-month teaching intensive, and continue to search for an agent to represent "Fidelio".

Have a great weekend everyone, and Happy New Year!

Interesting! I especially like Carmen and her cigarillo. Violetta, in the larger gallery, is evocative too; a neat way of condensing the story into a single image. Vaguely apropos, I've long pictured Florestan as resembling El Greco's John the Baptist (and yes, I do realize this is odd.) Good luck with your first quarter of 2012!

Yes, I must say those are rather stunning. Thank you. And good luck with what seems an especially busy time

@Lucy: I was going to make Carmen my new desktop image before my computer got that stupid virus. When it's fixed, I guess. And I looked up the El Greco John the Baptist, and I think you hit the nail on the head: he's just as skinny as I'd imagined Florestan to be, at the end.

@The Wagnerian: I'm glad you like them! I was delighted when I found them. And thank you!
