Hello, all. It's been a while, hasn't it? I'm not dead; I've just been very busy procrastinating the whole blog thing, largely because the last few weeks have been fairly dull. All I've been doing is assembling a proper German cover letter and CV, which means that I've been Skyping with Wotan (my dad) on a daily basis, howling about how difficult it all is, and I don't like to job hunt in my own language, and can I please come back to Valhalla* now?! (The answer is still a resounding "no".**)
Luckily for both of us, a friend and former colleague from that Belgian school I used to teach at came to visit me this weekend. She's working in Munich now, and called up on Sunday to ask if she could come on Friday. It was a great weekend; we basically played tourist the entire time, since she's never been to Berlin before. We went to Schloss Charlottenburg, which is beautiful. I'm definitely going to be spending more time in the Schlosspark, which is both enormous and open to the public. Berlin is growing on me, which is definitely a good thing.
Last but not least, I discovered this Tumblr, and you should all check it out: What Should We Call Opera? It is truly hilarious; I've been belly laughing over it for days.
That's me, over and out!
*If by "Valhalla" you mean "California", and I do.
**I don't actually want to go back to California; I just am thoroughly confused and a little demoralized by the German job hunt.
