I will be attending the Deutsche Oper 100th Anniversary Gala this Saturday, thanks to the ever-fabulous Heidi Melton and her generosity to this opera fan.
The program includes a heady cocktail of Wagner, Rossini, Verdi, and (most importantly for your truly) the entire second act of Beethoven's Fidelio. I may just end up crying like a little girl.

@villagediva: Well, I didn't know I'd be going until Wednesday evening-it's been sold out for months! I'm so excited it's almost indecent. :-)
