31 Days of Halloween: Day 7

Today was a good and proper October day, with clouds scudding across the sky, a chill in the air, and leaves swirling around the trees. The kind of day, if you can get out of bed at all, you want to spend doing absolutely nothing but walking around, listening to spooky music. Or maybe it's just me, and this is my favorite time of the year, and spooky music is never so appropriate as it is in October.

Here is one of the creepiest pieces I know: Night on Bald Mountain, by Mussorsky. I first saw it as a child in Fantasia. I managed one viewing before running out of the room howling; the music and the cartoon it accompanied were too much for me. Luckily it eventually found its way into my heart. It will forever in my mind go down as awesome Halloween music.
