All my best wishes go out to Jonas Kaufmann and his family while he undergoes surgery. I know just how stressful it can be. Here's hoping he gets a good long rest and recuperation, and will be back singing for us all for years to come.

Amen. Funny, I came across that pic yesterday. It is possible, by the way, that your write-up of the Saarbrucken 'Lied von der Erde' is the only one with any detail - the 'review' in Marion's website from a local paper says very little. Yours made me feel I was there........ Lovely interview with JK before the Stockholm concert - but why did the interviewer talk so much herself - could she possibly have been nervous..........She was toe-curlingly awful backstage during the concert itself. Have just played the first act of Oberon, which arrived today. It is completely, entrancingly, mad - and could possibly be held culpable for both English pantomime and Gilbert and Sullivan. JK sings a lot of notes very fast, and beautifully........
@shapta-dakini: That's really weird about Saarbrucken, considering how many people were there. You know, I actually made it into the video thing they did, as the blond girl in polka dots who gives the camera a googly-eyed look in the beginning. Which is Marion's website? *guilty face*
I saw that Stockholm interview! The only thing I can think of about the interviewer is that she isn't a TV personality. She was pretty bad. And JK seemed quite stressed, I thought.
